My Story
A native Californian from the town of Orinda, I grew up as the youngest of six and eventually made my way to UCLA, where I earned a B.A. in Motion Picture/Television from the Film School. I've worked for years in the film and TV industry as a Propmaker on a wide range of features and series. When I’m not behind the scenes, you might find me behind a drum kit.
Now living in Southern California with my wife and two kids, I still find joy in the simple things: nature, family, and a good story.
Heart Man Max was born during a season of life spent in Washington with my sister. It began with a letter to a friend, a heart doodle in a box, and the thought: Maybe I could’ve been more creative. Gazing out the window at an old ’67 pickup truck, the idea sparked: What if there were a man who made hearts and delivered them? Max appeared on the page almost instantly. The rhymes followed me into sleep, and within a week, the first book was written and illustrated.
This is storytelling from the heart - literally.
